My hobbies are hiking, ultimate frisbee, kayaking, swimming, biking, and being outside in the sun and in nature. About my abilities with students: I love math but am also a creative artsy type. I double majored in Math and Communication because I like numbers but I also like people. I love math but I understand how bad it feels to have a teacher who does not explain things in a way that I can understand and connect with. I understand the frustration of not "getting it". I also feel that there is an epidemic of what I call low "math confidence". I like to help students achieve success in Math while also learning to have confidence in their abilities. I have been teaching online for 5 years now at a publicly funded high school in Florida and am very familiar with online formats and tools and how to best use those resources to help students succeed.
